We will be holding our new course: "Improving Investigations" in Grand Rapids, MI in June. We are working towards having the course MCOLES certified, we will update the description when we have that secured. This is a 3-Day course that was developed in partnership between LIES Linguistic Interrogation Expert Services and Daryl Clemens, a crime scene specialist and trainer from Michigan, and editor of Crime & Clues. The class covers the basics from crime scene protection and evidence collection, to fundamental skills of photography, latent prints and footwear, trace evidence and DNA. The human factor is covered as well with sessions on interviewing, developing rapport, enhancing witness memory, strategic use of evidence in interviews, deception in language and statement analysis techniques.
This course will be terrific for patrol officers and new investigators and will also serve as a great refresher for seasoned detectives who want to update their skills and knowledge with the latest techniques in the field.
